چکیده

We propose a H2–CO kinetic model which incorporates the recent thermodynamic, kinetic, and species transport updates relevant to high-temperature H2 and CO oxidation. Attention has been placed on obtaining a comprehensive and kinetically accurate model able to predict a wide variety of H2–CO combustion data. The model was subject to systematic optimization and validation tests against reliable H2– CO combustion data, from global combustion properties (shock-tube ignition delays, laminar flame speeds, and extinction strain rates) to detailed species profiles during H2 and CO oxidation in flow reactor and in laminar premixed flames. 2004 The Combustion Institute. The Application of Hybrid RSM/ANN Methodology of an Iron-based Catalyst Performance in Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis

In this research, the performance and kinetics of an iron/manganese oxide catalyst in a fixed-bed reactor by Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis is studied. The range of operating conditions are; P = 1 – 12 bar, T = 513 - 553 K, H2/CO ratio = 1 - 2 and GHSV = 4200 – 7000 ((〖cm〗^3 (STP))/h/g_cat). The effect of these independent variables, on Fischer-Tropsch product were performed by using a statistical m...

Reduction Kinetics of Cu-, Ni-, and Fe-based Oxygen Carriers Using Syngas (CO+H2) for Chemical-Looping Combustion

The reactivity of three Cu-, Fe-, and Ni-based oxygen carriers to be used in a chemical-looping combustion (CLC) system using syngas as fuel has been analyzed. The oxygen carriers exhibited high reactivity during reduction with fuel gases present in syngas (H2 and CO), with average values in the range 8-30 % min. No effect of the gas products (H2O, CO2) on the reduction reaction rate was detect...

On a Numerical Model for Gasification of Biomass Materials: An Alternative Method to Combustion

In this paper, a thermochemical equilibrium model is used to predict the performance of a downdraft biomass gasifier. Numerical results are shown to be in good agreement with those of the experiments. Different biomass materials are tested using the model, and forest residual is shown to be the most energetic one. For this material, the gasification temperature, syngas composition and calorific...

Kinetic Mechanism Reduction Using Genetic Algorithms, Case Study on H2/O2 Reaction

For large and complex reacting systems, computational efficiency becomes a critical issue in process simulation, optimization and model-based control. Mechanism simplification is often a necessity to improve computational speed. We present a novel approach to simplification of reaction networks that formulates the model reduction problem as an optimization problem and solves it using geneti...
